About H.A.W.K.
Since its inception, H.A.W.K. has been focused on providing Iowa wrestling, as well as amateur wrestling in general, with a fan base far surpassing that offered at other universities. In parallel, H.A.W.K. provides an avenue for fans and athletes to meet, socialize, and generally celebrate the successes of Iowa Wrestling. H.A.W.K. provides not only post-event socials, but has grown to offer regular news updates, travel and lodging for major events.
While focusing on the foregoing principles, H.A.W.K. has always been focused on maintaining its autonomy from University of Iowa Wrestling due to the ever-changing Big Ten and NCAA rules governing support organizations and post-graduate wrestler funding. H.A.W.K. does not accept or solicit contributions to support either University of Iowa Wrestling or post-graduate wrestlers specifically as those roles are currently undertaken by the University of Iowa. As a result, H.A.W.K. is able to maintain relatively low dues as membership fees are used solely for the benefit of its members by providing socials and trips.
